Graeme Rivers - Rental Rep

Graeme began his arts career at the age of four when he started dance lessons in Mississauga, Ontario. In high school, where he majored in dance in the Regional Arts Program, he discovered an interest in technical theatre. Work for student productions, the Mississauga Symphony and the Peel Regional School Board followed and then a co-op work term for a local theatre. Sheridan College in the Technical Theatre program was the next stop on Graeme’s journey. During his summers he worked at Paramount Theatre at Canada’s Wonderland and made his first contact with Christie Lites as a Shop Technician.

After graduating Graeme began film work: Bless the Child, X Men, Chicago as Best Boy Electric and Moving Light Tech, moving on to Music Man, Welcome to Mooseport, The Pacifier, Take the Lead, and Man of the Year as Lighting Programmer. As well as leading a busy film life he found time to start a career in the cruise ship industry where he was able to perform such duties as Lighting Lead, Technical Supervisor and Project Manager for Techworks doing various technical installs and lighting designs for Norwegian Cruise Lines and Carnival.

Since 2001 Graeme also worked for Christie Lites as a Crew Chief on productions such as the Junos (2007 - 2009), Much Music Video Awards (2001 - 2009), Elvis Costello’s Spectacle with U2, MTV Behind the Scenes with New Kids on the Block, The Grey Cup Halftime Show (2006 & 2007), KISS Live in Montreal, Bon Jovi Live in Central Park. His touring credits include Michael Bublé and Loreena McKennitt.

In 2009 Graeme joined the Christie Lites team as an account manager, and since that time he has had the pleasure of overseeing such events as: The Railway Children – Marquis Entertainment, 2 Pianos 4 Hands – Marquis Entertainment, Cirque Du Soleil – La Nouba, Let’s Get It On – Canadian MMA, Canadian Special Olympics Gala 2010, Agency Wars 2011, North by Northeast 2009-2010, 2011 Canada Games, TSN Kraft Tour 2011, Fitness Star International 2009-2011 and NY Fashion Week 2010 – Adidas. He has also had the opportunity to work with such bands as Aventura, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Olivia Newton John, Protest the Hero, Red Light King (Bullet in my hand music video), Hey Rosetta!, Hot Hot Heat, Wintersleep, Jill Scott Tour 2011, Coldplay (Live at CTV), Travis Tritt.
